About

The Nephrology & Urology department was established as one of the founding specialties of RRSH Amravati when Phase I opened on 10 May 2008. It addresses the most critical unmet renal care need in the Amravati division.

On 4 April 2018, the first kidney transplant was performed — making RRSH the first government hospital in Maharashtra's Public Health Department to achieve this milestone. The hospital is ZTCC and NOTTO registered.

Over five years, OPD has grown from 10,708 (2020-21) to 34,808 (2025-26) — a 225% increase reflecting both increasing demand and the absence of comparable public-sector alternatives.
