The Oncology department launched with Phase II in 2022 and has experienced extraordinary growth — OPD has increased 657% from 1,047 (2023-24) to 7,924 (2025-26) in just two years.
Vidarbha has among the highest cancer incidence rates in Maharashtra, linked to agricultural chemical exposure, poverty, and delayed diagnosis. RRSH provides the only public-sector cancer surgery and chemotherapy service in the Amravati Division.
The Chemotherapy Day Care Unit operates on the Ground Floor with 2,275 sessions in 2025-26. Oncosurgery on the Fourth Floor handles head-neck, gastrointestinal, and gynaecological cancers.
