Department of Pathology & Microbiology
6,97,830 laboratory tests in 2025-26. Blood tests, urine analysis, biochemistry, and microbiology at zero cost to eligible patients.
The Department of Pathology and Microbiology has been operational since RRSH's Phase I opening in 2008, providing laboratory diagnostic support to all clinical departments and outpatients.
In 2025-26, the department processed 6,97,830 tests — comprising 6,84,260 blood tests and 13,570 urine tests. This volume serves all inpatients, OPD referrals, and emergency cases across the hospital's eight departments.
Laboratory services are free for eligible patients under MJPJAY and PMJAY, removing a critical cost barrier for rural Vidarbha patients who would otherwise pay private-sector rates for essential diagnostics.
