CT scans, X-ray, ultrasound, mammography, interventional radiology, and outsourced MRI — diagnostic imaging for the Amravati Division since 2008.
The Department of Radio Diagnosis and Interventional Radiology has been operational since RRSH's Phase I opening in 2008, providing conventional and advanced diagnostic imaging services to the Amravati Division.
The department operates a 32-slice CT scanner (12,906 studies in 2025-26 including contrast and CT angiography), two ultrasound units — one in each hospital building — and a full suite of conventional radiography including digital radiography, computed radiography, and portable bedside X-ray. Mammography, dye studies, and distal loopogram studies are also available. MRI is provided under an outsourced MOU with KRSNAA.
Interventional radiology services include USG-guided and CT-guided FNAC/biopsy for diagnostic confirmation and pigtail catheter placements for drainage — bridging diagnostic imaging with minimally invasive therapeutic procedures.

Digital and Computed Radiography for chest, bone, and abdominal imaging. Portable bedside X-ray available for ICU and ward patients.
Contrast-enhanced radiographic studies for anatomical evaluation of hollow structures.
Radiographic study of distal bowel loops — typically performed post-surgically for anastomosis assessment.
Breast imaging for screening and diagnosis. Only public-sector mammography access in the five-district catchment.
Two units — one in each hospital building. Abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, soft-tissue, and Doppler imaging.
High-resolution CT including plain, contrast-enhanced, and CT angiography studies. 12,906 scans in 2025-26.
1.5T MRI under KRSNAA MOU. Neurological, oncological, and musculoskeletal imaging at public-sector cost.
Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration cytology and core biopsy for diagnostic tissue sampling.
CT-guided FNAC and biopsy for deep or anatomically complex lesions not accessible by ultrasound.
Image-guided pigtail catheter placement for pleural and abdominal fluid drainage.
