Echocardiography uses ultrasound waves to produce live images of the heart — its structure, chambers, valves, and blood flow. RRSH performed 8,230 echocardiograms in 2025–26. Both 2D Echo (standard) and 4D Echo (dynamic, three-dimensional view) are available. The facility operates within the Cardiology unit and supports both OPD patients and inpatients.
Patients with suspected or confirmed heart disease, heart failure, valve disorders, chest pain, breathlessness, or before and after cardiac surgery.
Gel is applied to the chest and a probe is moved over it. The cardiologist or technician views the heart in real time on a monitor. The test is painless and takes 20–30 minutes. You remain awake throughout.
Available under MJPJAY cardiology packages.
