The Nephrology & Urology surgical unit performed 2,837 operations in 2025–26, covering the full range of urological and kidney surgical procedures including nephrectomy, ureteroscopy, TURP (prostate surgery), bladder surgeries, reconstructive ureteral procedures, and emergency urological interventions. Minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures are available.
Patients with kidney tumours, kidney stones not amenable to ESWL, prostate disease requiring surgery, bladder conditions, ureteral strictures, or other urological problems requiring surgical intervention.
Admission 1–2 days before the planned surgery for pre-operative evaluation. Surgery under general or spinal anaesthesia. Hospital stay varies from 2–7 days depending on the procedure.
