The Neurology & Neurosurgery OPD handles the full range of neurological and neurosurgical conditions — from epilepsy and stroke to brain tumours, spinal disorders, and hearing loss requiring cochlear implants. The department, operational since 2022-23, has grown 322% in OPD volume in two years, now seeing over 11,500 patients annually. Cochlear implants — the first in Maharashtra's Public Health Department — are performed here.
Patients with seizures (fits), stroke, head injury, brain tumour, memory problems, severe headaches, spine pain, weakness in limbs, or hearing loss not responding to hearing aids.
A detailed neurological examination and review of imaging (CT/MRI). The doctor may recommend additional nerve conduction studies or brain imaging. Neurosurgical consultations include assessment for surgical intervention where required.
Bring all previous CT scans, MRI films/reports, EEG reports, and medication history. For cochlear implant evaluation, bring audiometry reports.
